How Can I Install TP-Link Router Without CD?

Positioning TP-Link Wi-Fi Router:

  • Keep your TP-Link Wi-Fi router in center location and open space of your house
  • Place the TP-link router in the area with least amount of wireless signal interference from surrounding objects of metal, or concrete or magnet.
  •  It is best to place the TP-link router on the floor to ensure high wireless network signal strength from it.
  • Place the TP-link router for setup in an area receiving no direct sun rays to avoid its overheating.

How Can I Install TP-Link Router Without CD?

Installation of TP-Link Router without CD (TP-link router setup).

  • Turn off the modem, TP-link router as well as your computer and disconnect from power.
  • Attach the TP-link router’s antennas to its specific ports in the upright direction.
  •  Position the antennas in all directions for uniform signal strength throughout.
  • Establish connection of the computer to the TP-link router by adjoining them at any one of the LAN ports of the TP-link Wi-Fi router with an Ethernet cable.
  • Also establish connection of your modem to the TP-link router adjoining it at the WAN ports using an Ethernet cable.
  • Power on the connected hardware devices –computer and TP-link router and then modem simultaneously.
  • Let the devices boot and the status LED’s show light.

TP-link router setup directed through tplinkwifi.net

  1. Launch a web browser on the wifi connected computer to initiate TP-link login.
  2. Input the TP-link router login default web protocol address in the address bar of the browser.
  • Use www.tplinkwifi.net for TP-link router login in the address bar and press Enter.
  • If any login error arises, use default IP TP 192.168.1.1 instead for default Gateway login through address bar.
  • The TP-link router login page display after directed by tplinkwifi.net login.
  • Use the TP-link router default login details to login.
  • Enter “admin” in both the TP-link login username and password field tabs to access the TP-link router’s admin page.
  • The TP-link router’s web based management page is reached.
  • Configure the TP-link router’s wireless network settings.
  • Configure the WAN connection type firstly.
  • Click on the Network option on the management interface.
  • Choose the WAN option on the left menu of the web interface.

For wireless connection type configuration of DSL modem:

  •  Change the wireless connection type to PPP0E.
  • To connect to the DSL modem’s PPPoE connection, keep the wireless settings for PPPoE handy as provided by your ISP.
  • Enter the PPPoE connection username along with its password in given field bars under PPPoE connection option.
  • Save the settings for securing wireless connection type.

For wireless connection type configuration of Cable/ADSL modem:

  • Change the wireless connection type to Dynamic IP.
  • To connect to the DSL modem’s Dynamic IP connection, keep the wireless settings handy as provided by your ISP.
  • Enter the username along with its password in given field bars under Dynamic IP connection option.
  • Save the settings for securing wireless connection type.

For wireless connection type configuration of static IP modem:

  • Change the wireless connection type to static IP.
  • To connect to the DSL modem’s static IP connection, keep the wireless settings handy as provided by your ISP.
  • Enter the username along with its password in given field bars under static IP connection option.
  • Save the settings for securing wireless connection type.
  1. The TP-link router would establish internet connection in some time.
  2. Let the connection establish between the TP-link router and modem.
  3. This completes TP-link router setup.
  4. Go to the web based management interface and click on Status option on top on menu’s left side.
  5. Check if the WAN part details display the IP address configured from established internet connection setup.
  6. If the IP address is displayed, the wireless internet connection has been established successfully. 

If the IP address is not seen and there is no sign of internet access, you would require to power cycle the connection setup system.

  • Firstly, turn off the DSL modem being used, followed by TP-link router and then the computer simultaneously.
  • Let them turn off for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Lastly, turn the system on as you switched the off starting with modem and turning on the computer in the end.

The TP-link router installation and setup would get completed without any CD using web browser and tplinkwifi.net login.
